The tree is characterized by moderate vigor, reaching 4–8 meters on standard rootstocks and 2–4 meters on dwarf ones. The variety is partially self-fertile and prone to biennial bearing. There is a more intensely colored clone of the variety called Red Ellison.

Fruits are medium-sized, with a yellow-green ground color with an intense red-orange blush and stripes. The flesh is tender, juicy, and cream-white in color. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and juice production, and has a short storage life after harvest.

The variety possesses high resistance to scab and powdery mildew, but shows significant susceptibility to apple tree canker, which is why it is not recommended for planting in areas with high humidity.
