The variety originates from the Tervo region in Northern Savonia and has been known since at least 1990. It is included in plant genetic resource conservation programs in Finland as a historical local clone.

The variety is classified as summer or autumn. Morphological characteristics of the tree vary from upright to weeping forms, and the fruits can have a conical shape. Detailed agronomic data in open sources is limited.
