The tree grows with moderate vigor, forming an upright, narrow, and medium-sized crown, with growth slowing down at the onset of bearing. The fruits are medium-sized and have a round or slightly elongated conical shape. The skin is firm, smooth, and shiny, changing its ground color from greenish-yellow to yellow during storage, and is covered with a dark purple-red blush.
The flesh of the fruits is firm, fine-grained, juicy, and greenish-white or yellowish-white in color. The taste is sweet with a wine-like hint. The variety is late-maturing; harvesting begins from mid-October. The fruits have high transportability and excellent keeping quality, and are resistant to wind.
The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinator varieties. The name is a historical collective name, therefore similar in characteristics but genetically different forms may be found under it.
