The Elbee variety, which is also encountered under the name Calagolden Elbee, is a clone of the well-known Golden Delicious variety. Genetic studies confirm the presence of certain differences from other members of this group; however, the main characteristics, including tree type and requirements for growing conditions, remain typical of the parent variety.

The fruits of the clone have a yellow color, a sweet taste, and a crisp flesh, which defines their dessert use. Specialized data on significant differences in disease resistance or plant habit compared to the typical Golden Delicious are absent.
