The variety belongs to heirloom local cultivars. The fruits are characterized by a very large size and an irregular angular shape. The skin is straw-yellow with a red marbled pattern and stripes; the flesh is white and has a sweet-wine taste.

In terms of consumption period, the variety is a winter one, reaching maturity between November and January. Historically, the fruits were used in cooking, in particular for making strudels. The variety is included in the gene bank collections of old fruit trees.

The name Libernáč is a collective term for a group of varieties, therefore this cultivar is recorded under the specific name Libernáč Winitzy, which is a synonym for Rambour von Winitza.
