The variety is a regional landrace widespread in Portugal. It is maintained by government agencies within the framework of biodiversity conservation programs and is used primarily in organic gardening.

During studies, the variety showed no signs of scab infection, which makes it promising for ecologically oriented production. Detailed data on agronomic features, such as ripening dates, tree height, or fruit chemical composition, are absent in the scientific literature.
