Pêro Rei, also known as Pêro Rei Carrazeda, is a regional genetic resource of Portugal. The variety is not a product of modern breeding and is being studied as part of the conservation of agricultural biodiversity.
During studies, the variety shows no signs of scab, which allows it to be considered suitable for organic farming. The fruits possess specific textural properties and biochemical composition, including levels of sugars and phenolic compounds, that distinguish them from other regional varieties.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
