The variety is the result of a controlled cross between the Honeycrisp and Sciros varieties. The tree has weak to medium vigor, forms a spreading crown, and bears fruit primarily on spurs. The flowering period begins early to mid-season, and fruit ripening occurs simultaneously with the Braeburn variety.

The fruits are distinguished by their large size and intense red skin coloration, which covers 80% or more of the surface. The fruit flesh has a tender, crisp texture; the variety is intended for dessert consumption.
