The Scarlet Velvet variety belongs to the Velvet series and is a compact plant, also known under the trade name dipladenia. The flowers are funnel-shaped and distinguished by a red color with a characteristic white stripe along the petal margins.

Due to its compact form, the variety is ideal for cultivation in small pots and can also be used as a houseplant.
