The plant is annual or biennial with highly branched stems 10 to 70 cm in height and a taproot system. It is distinguished by cold resistance, particularly to spring and early autumn frosts, and the ability to fix nitrogen in the soil.

The Medicago lupulina of this variety is used as a component of complex grass mixtures, including forage ones, as well as a lawn plant. It is characterized by the ability to regrow after mowing and resistance to trampling and grazing.
