The plant is an annual or biennial, having a low-growing prostrate or ascending form with stem heights up to 50–60 cm. The variety is characterized by early flowering and the ability to begin vegetation earlier than many clover species.

The crop is well adapted to dry conditions and grows successfully on poor, calcareous soils. The variety shows a medium degree of susceptibility to powdery mildew and Sclerotinia, and also possesses insignificant sensitivity to damage by the pea leaf weevil (Sitona lineatus).

The purpose of the variety includes use as a forage crop, a green manure for soil nitrogen enrichment, and a component of grass mixtures for landscaping. Biochemical analysis indicates a high content of ascorbic acid in the green mass.
