The variety was developed from elite Australian genetic material, including the SARDI Seven series 2 line. During the selection process, multi-stage screening was conducted for low pH tolerance, drought tolerance, and survival under intensive grazing conditions.
The variety is characterized by a dormancy rating of 7.5 and is intended for both hay production and use in irrigated and dryland pastures. The plant possesses improved tolerance to soils with a pH level from 4.8 to 8.0 and is distinguished by high persistence in the sward.
