The Jitka variety is a forage crop. Studies from the 1990s revealed the resistance of this variety to bacterial wilt caused by Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus, in comparison with the standard variety Palava.
During tests on sod-podzolic sandy loam soils, the variety demonstrated a dry matter yield comparable to other tested samples. The variety was also used in comparative studies of alfalfa genotypes when investigating their tolerance to aluminum toxicity in the soil.
