The variety was bred through selection based on Pannonian alfalfa and European varieties. The plants have an erect growth habit, medium height, and strong stems. The flowers are predominantly light or medium violet, with some dark blue shades occurring.
The variety is distinguished by a medium-fast regrowth rate after mowing and resistance to lodging. Due to a high leaf-to-stem ratio, the variety has good forage value and was used for a long time as a standard in breeding trials.
