The variety is synthetic and characterized by medium plant height during the growing season, becoming short or medium-tall after the third cut. Plants possess good winter hardiness.

Alfalfa variety Relax shows resistance to Fusarium and Verticillium wilt, with resistance to Verticillium wilt assessed as medium or high. Protein content in dry matter reaches 22–23% when harvesting schedules are observed.
