The classic Titan variety is a historical breeding line whose genetics were used in the creation of other alfalfa varieties. In a number of registries, the status of this variety is currently listed as cancelled.
The modern Titan 7 and Titan 9 series belong to highly winter-active varieties with a dormancy group of 8–10. The plants have an erect habit, regrow quickly after cutting, and form leafy hay. The varieties possess high resistance to Phytophthora root rot, crown rot, as well as blue alfalfa aphid and spotted alfalfa aphid.
The Sun Titan variety is characterized by high yield potential and intensive regrowth after cutting, possessing the ability to effectively maintain the stand.
