The variety belongs to the group of oriental tobaccos of the «Prilep» type and is a valuable raw material for the tobacco industry. In scientific research, it often serves as a control sample or standard in the comparative study of other varieties.

The plant possesses good organoleptic properties, recognized in a number of studies. The yield of dry leaf is characterized as medium, inferior to some modern commercial lines.

The variety does not possess resistance to tobacco mosaic virus. It exhibits a medium level of resistance to the causal agent of black shank (Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae) for races 0 and 1.
