The variety belongs to the Virginia type. It is one of the world's first varieties possessing specific resistance mechanisms to black root rot, caused by the fungus Thielaviopsis basicola.
In addition to resistance to Thielaviopsis basicola, publications note the variety's resistance to Chalara elegans. The produce obtained from this variety is characterized by high quality of the raw material.
