The variety belongs to the temperate japonica group and is classified as a tall plant, with a height exceeding 130 cm. The variety was bred between 1900 and 1930 and belongs to the category of heirloom breeding forms.

In scientific literature, the variety is considered primarily in the context of genetic research, in particular for identifying resistance loci to fungal diseases such as Bakanae. The variety is maintained in gene banks as part of European agricultural heritage; there is no information regarding its widespread commercial use today.
