The variety is a long-grain rice intended for cultivation using the Clearfield system, which provides resistance to the herbicides imazethapyr and imazamox. The plant is characterized by a short stem with an average height of about 96 cm, high seed germination energy, and the ability to produce a ratoon crop.
The variety is very early-maturing, reaching the 50% heading stage in approximately 78 days, which is 4–7 days faster than other varieties. It possesses good resistance to lodging and rice blast, but is susceptible to cercospora leaf spot, bacterial panicle blight, sheath blight, and the physiological disorder straighthead.
The grain of the variety contains more amylose compared to typical U.S. long-grain varieties, resulting in it being less sticky when cooked. The product is characterized by high quality and good milling yield during processing.
