The variety is the result of breeding using the backcrossing method. Plants reach a height of approximately 94 cm. Selection was carried out using leaf tissue analysis to identify homozygous lines possessing the specific aroma.

The grain of the variety contains the compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, which provides its flavor profile, and is characterized by a relatively high-intermediate amylose content with an intermediate gelatinization temperature. When cooked, the rice is distinguished by a dry and flaky texture not typical of sticky varieties like Jasmine.
