The variety was created by individual selection from the hybrid combination Ametist / Yantarniy. The plant reaches a height of 90–100 cm, has a compact erect bush and dark green leaves without anthocyanin coloration. The panicle is vertical, 14–18 cm long.
The grain is elongated, thousand kernel weight is 34–35 g. The variety has high grain hardness, husk content of 18–19%, and whole kernel yield of 80–90%. The variety is resistant to shattering during over-ripening and moderately resistant to nematodes.
Potential yield reaches 8–9 t/ha. The variety is suitable for various irrigation regimes, including drip irrigation, and can be harvested by both two-phase and direct methods. It is used primarily for preparing side dishes, risotto, and paella.
