The variety is a long-grain rice intended for commercial cultivation, primarily in the southern states of the USA. Its morphological characteristics include plant height in the range of 116–120 cm; the variety is not semi-dwarf.

The grain quality of the variety was studied in aspects of milling, gelatinization, and resistance to fissuring during hydrothermal processing. During cultivation, the variety's sensitivity to manganese deficiency in soils with neutral or alkaline pH was noted.
