The variety belongs to the japonica subspecies and has a growing period of 155 to 165 days. In breeding programs, the plant is considered a semi-dwarf form used as genetic material for studying stem height dynamics.

The grain of the variety is classified as long (Long A type). Physico-chemical characteristics include a gelatinization time of approximately 22.1 minutes, which is an important indicator for risotto preparation. Research has been conducted on the mechanical properties of the grain, including its strength and resistance to compression.

When grown, the variety shows susceptibility to stem rot, the incidence of which can be significant. The variety is traditionally used in European rice farming, in particular, it is mentioned in the context of production in Italy and Portugal.
