The variety is mid-season and was the first registered poppy variety bred at the Malý Šariš breeding station. Currently, industrial cultivation of the variety has been discontinued in favor of newer hybrids.

The seeds of the variety have an average thousand kernel weight in the range of 0.52–0.60 g. The plants possess moderate resistance to Helminthosporium and downy mildew, however, a tendency for cadmium accumulation when grown on certain soil types has been noted.
