The Plain Leaved variety is a group of flat-leaf parsley common in European registers. It is not a unique breeding brand, but a traditional cultivar type known by a number of synonyms, such as Plain or single, Simple, Commun, and Gewone Snij.
The plant is early-maturing, with a period from germination to technical maturity of 60–75 days. It forms a rosette of dark green, smooth, incised leaves that possess a pronounced spicy taste and aroma, which is often rated as more intense than that of curly varieties.
The variety has good regrowth capacity after cutting and is cold-hardy. This type of parsley is versatile in use and is suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and freezing.
