The Boston variety is a bush form of snap bean with dark green pods 12 to 15 cm in length. The plant possesses a high degree of resistance to the main types of bean diseases and is intended for sale on the fresh market.

It is necessary to distinguish this breeding variety from the culinary term “Boston beans,” which refers to a group of small white bean varieties used for preparing traditional dishes, and also not to confuse it with the Boston lettuce variety belonging to the species Lactuca sativa.
