The variety is a landrace adapted to local growing conditions in Slovenia and is most often cultivated on small family farms, frequently as a companion crop alongside maize.
The plant is of the pole type and has lilac flowers. The pods are round in shape, green with lilac streaks, and contain a dense parchment layer. Seeds at the stage of full maturity acquire a dark purple color with white specks and streaks.
