Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Cosmos (also known as BSC 8397) is a mid-season or early-mid-season variety with a maturity period of about 54 days. The plant is of the determinate type and forms pods 15–16.5 cm long, corresponding to sieve size 4–5.

A characteristic feature of the variety is the delayed development of seeds inside the pod, which extends the period of maintaining market quality and facilitates harvesting. The variety is intended for use in the fresh market and industrial processing.

The plant possesses resistance to high temperatures. The variety is characterized by high resistance to Bean common mosaic virus and intermediate resistance to Beet curly top virus. The variety was obtained by crossing Ambassador and Hystyle.
