The plant belongs to bush forms with strong branched stems reaching a height of 140–150 cm, which requires the use of supports. The foliage is small, pointed, and light green in shade. The flowers are white with a transition to yellow. The pods are light green, slightly curved, 19–20 cm long, and contain 5–6 seeds each.

Large kidney-shaped seeds are distinguished by a bright red or wine-red color. The variety is intended for grain production, used in dry or semi-dry form. It is characterized by early flowering and high yield.

Historically, the name "Flageolet" in France was applied to a group of bean varieties harvested at the stage of incomplete maturity, where "Flageolet rouge" acts as the red variety.
