The Piccolo variety belongs to the species Phleum nodosum L. and is used as turf grass. Its feature is the ability to withstand low mowing at a height of about 10–12 mm, which makes it suitable for creating a dense stand.
The plant is characterized by thin leaves and the formation of dense sod. By its morphological characteristics, the Piccolo variety is close to the Aberystwyth S.50 variety.
