Erecta R.v.P.
ActivePhleum pratense L. · Timothy grass
Rijksstation Voor Plantenveredeling (BE)
10 August 2026
The variety was characterized by high nutritional value of biomass and an increased leaf-to-stem ratio, while yielding less in volume compared to a number of other varieties. Under drought conditions, it exhibited an adaptive response expressed as a reduction in the above-ground part of the plants with a simultaneous development of the root system.
In regions with harsh climatic conditions, the variety demonstrated poor winter hardiness. It was used primarily in forage production, in particular, in mixed crops with red clover for producing silage or hay.
