The plant is a low-growing variety 15–20 cm in height with a moss-like habit. The star-shaped flowers are bright purple with a small white eye in the center. The flowering period occurs in late spring and early summer, which is usually one week later than standard Phlox subulata varieties.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zones 3–8) and resistance to powdery mildew and root rots. It is characterized by salt tolerance and a moderate, non-aggressive growth habit. It is used as a groundcover plant in rock gardens, borders, retaining walls, and container plantings.
