Variety description

The variety is a compact shrub with a height of 1.2 to 2.5 meters with leathery glossy dark green leaves. Young spring growth has a reddish hue.
Flowering lasts from February to June. The flowers are bell-shaped and colored in pink, pink-red or purple-red tones. The plant prefers acidic, humus-rich and moist soils, withstands temperature drops down to -27°C (USDA zones 5–8).
