Variety description

10 August 2026

The shrub is characterized by a compact, upright habit and a dense crown, reaching a height of 1 to 3 meters. One of the key features is the young leaves of a wine-red shade, which become glossy and dark green as they mature.

Flowering occurs in early spring, when the plant produces drooping racemes of pink bell-shaped flowers. The variety is demanding in terms of agricultural technology: it prefers partial shade and requires acidic, organic-rich, well-drained soil with a pH level of 4.5–5.5.

The plant has winter hardiness within USDA zones 6–10. It may show susceptibility to Phytophthora. The variety is valued for its decorativeness throughout all seasons, including the appearance of flowers, foliage, and winter buds.
