The variety is a dwarf coniferous shrub with a dense, spherical crown shape, which can become cushion-shaped or flattened with age. The plant is characterized by extremely slow growth: by ten years of age, it reaches a height of 0.5–0.7 m with a width of 0.9–1.0 m, and an adult plant grows to 1.0–1.5 m. The needles are dark green, thin, soft, and gathered in bundles of two.
The plant possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -29…-30°C. The variety is resistant to adverse urban conditions, drought, winds, as well as fungal diseases and pests. Due to its compact habit and slow development, the variety does not require regular shaping pruning.
In landscape design, it is used for decorating alpine slides, small gardens, and the foreground of flower beds. The variety is also suitable for growing in containers on balconies and terraces, and is often cultivated in a grafted form on a stem.
