The plant has a compact, symmetrical, spherical habit, which is maintained without additional pruning. Height at 10 years of age is 0.5–0.6 m; in the mature state, it does not exceed 0.8–1 m. The variety is the result of crossing Pinus nigra and Pinus densiflora.
Needles are light green, soft and shiny, 5–10 cm long, persisting for 3–4 years. Buds are grey, pointed, and almost resin-free. Annual growth is between 5 and 9 cm. The variety is light-loving and undemanding to soil, but requires good drainage.
The plant possesses high resistance to diseases, pests, drought, and air pollution. Winter hardiness of the variety allows it to withstand frosts down to -30°C…-34°C. Used for planting in small gardens, rock gardens, and containers.
