The modern agricultural variety Daisy is a field forage pea. It is characterized by an early flowering period, uniform ripening, and medium plant height. The variety possesses high lodging resistance, is distinguished by good nitrogen fixation and high seed yield with an increased protein content, suitable for both human consumption and forage purposes.
The historical vegetable pea variety Daisy was introduced in 1891 and obtained by crossing the Stratagem variety with an unknown variety. In early 20th-century literature, it was often mentioned in the context of confusion with other varieties due to the similarity of external traits, such as light green pods. In modern professional catalogs, this historical variety is not a commercial standard.
