The Gracia variety is a forage crop adapted for cultivation on less fertile soils. The plant is characterized by high resistance to winter cold down to -20°C when sown in winter and to spring frosts down to -8°C, and it also exhibits excellent resistance to pod shattering.
Produce of the variety is used for obtaining nutritious and easily digestible feed with high protein content, often as part of mixed sowings with grain and cereal crops. The variety is resistant to many fungal diseases, although it may be susceptible to certain races of bacterial blight.
In scientific literature, the variety is often mentioned as a genetic sample or a standard for comparison when studying the genome and disease resistance.
