The variety is classified as late-maturing and forms a stem 60–70 cm tall. The plant has a semi-erect growth habit and is resistant to lodging at harvest. Inside the pod, 8 to 9 medium-large dark green peas typically ripen; pods are often grouped in threes per node.
The variety demonstrates resistance to Fusarium wilt race 1 and moderate resistance to downy mildew. There are modifications of the variety with increased resistance to powdery mildew. It is intended for industrial canning and freezing and is often used as a standard in variety trials.
