The variety is highly productive and is used for grain production, as well as green mass and silage, including in mixed crops with winter wheat. Realization of yield potential and improvement of product quality depend on seed inoculation with specific strains of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae.
Crude protein content in grain reaches 260 g/kg; grain yield with seed inoculation reaches 3082 kg/ha. The variety is represented by both winter (Ozimi šampion) and spring forms, bred at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Zagreb.
