The variety is divided into a vegetable (processing) type, intended for canning and freezing, and a winter grain type, used as a cover crop for soil improvement, erosion control, and nitrogen fixation. The plant belongs to the leafless type (afila) and forms a short, strong stem.

The variety is mid-season, with a ripening period of about 70 days. Winter varieties possess increased winter hardiness, suitable for autumn sowing. The plant exhibits resistance to powdery mildew and Fusarium wilt (races 1 and 2).
