The Tyne variety (also known as CMG 308 AF) belongs to mid-season pea varieties, maturing approximately 2-3 days later than the Puget variety. The plant has a semi-leafless structure and a long stem.
The variety possesses good field resistance to downy mildew and high lodging resistance. It forms medium-sized peas; seeds in a mature state have a wrinkled surface.
Intended for industrial cultivation for the purpose of subsequent canning or freezing.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
