The variety belongs to the category of smooth-seeded or shelling peas. The name «középkorai» indicates the mid-early maturity group of the crop.
During selection trials, the variety demonstrated resistance to fungal diseases, in particular to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum.
Previously, the variety was widely used in the food industry of Hungary; however, with changes in harvesting technologies and increased requirements for grain ripening uniformity, it was superseded by more modern breeding achievements.
