The plant has a compact, dense, spherical crown type. Due to the very slow growth rate of 1–3 cm per year, the height and diameter of the shrub do not exceed 0.5 meters in 10 years. The shoots are arranged very densely and covered with golden-yellow scales, which acquire a copper or bronze shade during the winter period.
The variety is characterized by resistance to sunburn. It prefers sunny locations protected from the wind, as well as warm, moderately moist, and calcareous soils. In regions with a severe climate, it may suffer from frost, so it is recommended to place it in protected areas. The plant is suitable for small gardens, rock gardens, and container cultivation.
