The variety Vetrovska (Větrovská) is officially registered in agricultural catalogs as meadow fescue. It was created in the first half of the 20th century based on local ecotypes and received its name from the location of breeding.

In some agronomic publications, confusion occurs in the classification of this variety; however, specialized registers unequivocally define its belonging to the species Festuca pratensis Huds., refuting its connection to Kentucky bluegrass.
