The variety was developed in 1989 as a result of hybridization of two commercial lines. It forms a dense turf of deep dark green color with active tillering, which allows for effective suppression of weeds and the encroachment of Poa annua.
Possesses high resistance to diseases, including summer patch, anthracnose, leaf rust, stripe smut, necrotic ring spot, and snow mold. Exhibits tolerance to climatic stresses, including drought and low temperatures.
Morphologically characterized by an almost complete absence of pubescence on the leaves and weak expression of anthocyanin coloration of the leaf sheath. The variety is adapted to conditions of intensive use at low mowing heights.
