The variety was obtained by selection from the Danish strain «Øtofte I», as well as samples of Icelandic and German origin. Based on the results of trials from 1959–1964, the variety was characterized as the latest in heading date among the strains recognized at that time.

The plant demonstrated a high yield when grown in pure stands and in grass mixtures with clover. In experiments, manageability was noted when using moderate doses of nitrogen fertilizers and an absence of a tendency to lodging. The variety was intended for agricultural production and forage production.
