The variety was intended for use in grass mixtures, including those for establishing lawns and sports fields. In 1970s publications, the variety appeared in comparative trials studying the resistance of turf grasses to low-temperature fungal diseases, such as snow mold.

In breeding trial reports from 1959–1964, the variety was mentioned in the context of evaluating dry matter yield in pure stands and in mixtures with clover. Currently, the variety is considered archival and is practically not found in modern commercial catalogs.
