The variety Delrive is a clone of Populus deltoides bred for the needs of industrial forestry. The trees were distinguished by high growth vigor, good stem shape, and wood with sufficiently high density, providing high-quality mechanical properties.

The plant was recommended for cultivation primarily in the southern regions of France. The productivity of the variety depended directly on the level of moisture and compliance with the temperature and hydrothermal regime in the growing areas.

During its period of use, the variety showed critical vulnerability to leaf rust. Due to the overcoming of resistance to the pathogen, the variety was withdrawn from sale and excluded from distribution programs in nurseries, as phytosanitary risks made its use unfeasible.
